Welcome to EDEC430- Early Childhood Methods for Teaching Mathematics. I am looking forward to exploring the world of mathematics through the eyes of young children with you this semester. This blog gives you an opportunity to share any questions, concerns, or opinions you may have about our class topics/readings. I will post reflection questions for you to address weekly- but feel free to expand your blog to suit your needs. I will be checking on each of your blogs weekly prior to our class meetings and commenting on your blogs randomly (3 times during the semester).
Reflection questions for week one:
What does the term early childhood mathematics mean to you?
What key points did you take from chapter one that inform your understanding of how to teach mathematics for young children?
Also for week one: Do a separate blog posting for challenge 3 and one for challenge 4- I will be reading these as well.
